Growing up in Stretford, Greater Manchester, Lusaint never imagined a career in music was possible. Fast forward to 2025, and she has defied those early doubts, amassing over 250 million streams and establishing herself as one of the UK’s most exciting new voices.

Music called to Lusaint from a young age. As a teenager, she explored her parents’ record collection, falling in love with the jazz and blues of Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone - artists who would profoundly shape her sound. She began performing in local bars and restaurants and posting covers online. Her breakthrough came in 2019 with a stunning rendition of En Vogue’s ‘Don’t Let Go’, which became the most Shazamed song in a single day in UK history. A follow-up cover of Chris Isaak’s ‘Wicked Game’ has since earned over 41 million YouTube views, solidifying her growing fanbase.

By 2021, Lusaint had surpassed 50 million streams and signed with independent label Heavenly Fire. Turning her focus to songwriting, she teamed up with producer Blue May and Grammy-nominated engineer Kevin Grainger, refining a sound that blends jazz, soul, and pop with modern polish.

Her 2023 debut single ‘Dark Horse’ - co-written with Eg White, earned praise from BBC Radio 1 and Wonderland Magazine, followed by ‘Fool For You’, which reached over one million global streams and charted across France and Italy. Later that year, ‘Dream Life’ received national radio support, Lusaint’s first Spotify editorial cover and support from BBC Radio 1’s Mollie King on Future Pop, who said: “I HAD to play this track, it’s from Lusaint and I REALLY REALLY love it, makes me feel like I’m in a café in Paris, I love the Jazz influence on this, I just had to get it on" – Mollie King

In 2024, ‘Sweet Tooth’ brought playlist acclaim, ten BBC Radio 1 spins from the likes of Jack Saunders, Maia Beth and Sian Eleri as well as praise from Elton John on his Rocket Hour show and Rolling Stone Magazine. Live success followed, including sold-out French shows, festival slots, and support slots for RAYE, Tom Grennan, Nia Archives and Michael Kiwanuka.

Her debut EP ‘Self Sabotage’ - a collection that showcased her smoky, soulful tone reminiscent of Amy Winehouse and Nina Simone, surpassed 15 million streams. Lusaint’s 2025 follow-up ‘The Apothecary (Pt.1)’ saw equal acclaimed support from media include BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Jess Izart, Future Pop and editorial playlist covers.
